From the President .....

At this time of the year it is appropriate to thank the Holden Car Club Committee for all their hard work during 2009/2010, but that somehow seems to understate the way each member has worked for the benefit of the club and its members. This Committee has clicked into a formula that has delivered a tremendous variety of events along with a lot of fun and hard work over the past 12 months and I consider myself fortunate to have served as your President during this time.

Our calendar for each month featured some memorable events and I have listed a few of these below;

Pie and Lamington Cruise;

Fremantle Dinner and Cruise;

Brunswick Show;

Show �n� Shine;

Christmas Party and Trophy Presentations;

Australia Day Breakfast;

Drive-inn Movie Night;

Annual Club Run to Busselton;

Dennis Klarich Memorial Run to Galloway Engines;

Dinner Movie Night;

Sunday Breakfast and Tunnels Tour;

Concessional Licence Day.

In some instances we were overwhelmed with the response to these runs and it is gratifying to organise events that are well supported. A number of new members selected some of these events as their first sample of the Holden Car Club culture. We even had a proposal of marriage during our Pie and Lamington run to Gin Gin; there must have been something in those Culley�s pies!!!

So on behalf of all Club members I thank the committee and the people that pitch in on a regular basis, in particular the ladies that organise the afternoon tea at the Club meeting, and assist the club to function as a social club with Holden cars providing the glue that binds us together.

I would like to wish the incoming Committee for 2010/11 every success for the coming year.
